Stampin' Up!

Happy Ornament Shaker Card – Stampin’ Up!

I wanted to share a quick post with today, especially as it’s World Card Making Day 😀😀!!!

I’ve been playing around with one of the new stamps from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue. This one is the Happy Ornament Stamp set.

I have played with this one before by watercolouring the ornament & loved the results. However I wanted to go in a different direction & make a shaker card.

I started by using some Basic Black Archival Ink from Stampin’ Up & stamping onto a small portion of one of Stampin’ Up!’s window sheets.

Top Tip 1: I let it sit & dry for a minute or two so that I didn’t smudge it. While Archival Ink takes a little longer to dry, once it does, your stamped image will stay put on all sorts of non porous surfaces.

I then made 2 seperate  pockets for the sequins. One to keep the blue & clear sequins inside the ornament &  another to keep the red sequins outside the ornament.

I used the New foam strips from Stampin’ Up! to create some space between the window sheet & the background DSP so that the sequins can shake around a little.

Top Tip 2: Adding a few glass seed beads helps move the sequins around more, as their “weight” helps push stubborn sequins away from sticky edges & static.

I hope I’ve inspired you to try something different with the Happy Ornament stamp.

Much Love, K xo
